TRRC FORWARD PLAN 2005 - 2010
Background
The TRRC's forward plan has been developed following consultation with our member clubs and events. The plan draws together a number of objectives towards meeting our mission.
The Challenge for the TRRC is how best to utilise the limited resources that we have available to provide value for our membership, whilst ensuring our objectives are aligned with those of the ARA.
Mission statement and Vision
The TRRC’s mission is:
“To enable the Thames region to develop rowing at all levels, by enabling every community within the region to participate in the sport and to maximise our strengths at local, national and international level.”
This aligns with the ARA’s national vision of:
- New participants, through new partnership
- Rowing for life, through well resourced clubs
- Inspiration, through success on the world stage
Values and Principles
In line with the ARA values and principles, the TRRC is committed:
- To provide a transparent and accountable organisation
- To encourage and develop good practice in the region
- To provide equal opportunities regardless of gender; race; disability; sexual orientation; age or religion
- To create opportunities for athletes with the desire and talent, to join the High Performance Pathway
- To play an active part in developing rowing within the wider sporting community
- To play an active part in developing rowing to benefit local communities
- To provide a welcoming environment and support for all participants in the sport, at whatever level they choose to participate
- To value, recognise and support the work of volunteers
Achieving Our Mission
Having a mission statement is necessary first step but is worthless if not accompanied with a clear plan of how we aim to achieve our goals.
Whilst the stated values and principles must underlie all TRRC activities, we must first identify what those activities are and where our priorities lie within them. The ARA has given us a blue print that places the activities we must support into eight categories.
To the right is a list of these categories which link to explanations of how the TRRC intends to develop regional rowing within each category.
